Las Chorreras & La Victoria Waterfalls horseback riding tour will take you through pastures and dry forest patches into the region of Rincon de la Vieja.
You are going to be in Hacienda Guachipelin, one of the icons of cattle ranching of the province of Guanacaste.
Hacienda Guachipelín has 3,460 acres (1,400 hectares) and has three rivers across the farm, Blanco, Colorado and Negro.
The ranch has reserved huge patches of dry forest that are reforested with native species. This, together with a mild topography, waterfalls, hot springs, and having different ecosystems altogether make Guachipelin one of the highlights of the North Pacific region.
And it is ideal for a horseback riding tour! You will arrive at areas that can only be seen horseback riding, combining the Guanacaste cowboys’ sensations with the exuberant forests and breathtaking landscapes.
The horses used by the Hacienda for the tours are very well treated and behaved. They know the route, and you must know some basics commands to enjoy this tour fully. However, if you are an experienced rider and want a horse a bit more energetic, please ask for it at the time of reservation.
You will start the tour in the stables, with your certified guides giving you a helmet and a safety talk with all the needed instructions.
You will then ride the first thirty minutes on pastures and patches of the forest until you arrive in a naturally formed rock ring where you will find Las Chorreras, two twin waterfalls that cascade into a turquoise mineral water pool.
As you exit this oasis-like spot, hop back on your horse and ride twenty more minutes through unique topography and vegetation until you arrive in Río Negro and the 115 feet high Victoria waterfall.
Feel the sun, take a swim, and refresh yourself in this magical place with the waterfall sounds on the back. This is paradise!
You will have time to relax and fully live this experience before you get back on the saddle for your 45 minutes ride back to the Hacienda stables.
Experienced ranch cowboys guide all horseback riding tours in Hacienda Guachipelin.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, as well as long pants or knee-length shorts.
