This fantastic Rafting Sarapiqui River (Class III and IV) tour will start when your tour guides and transportation pick you up to take you through the most fertile areas of Costa Rica.
You will pass by plantations of tropical fruits, ornamental plants, and green pastures for beef and dairy cattle.
As you arrive at the rafting put-in, the specialized river guides will give you a safety briefing with some of the rules and commands needed to enjoy the adventure that you are about to begin.
They will give you the gear that you need for the tour, the helmet, life vest, and paddle and show you how to use it as well as how to move your body in the rapids.
Right after you will get on board of your raft, and off you go!
The tour lasts about 2 1/2 hours, filled with fun and excitement.
You will delight in rapids with names like Café de la Mañana (Morning Coffee), Terminator, Peraltica, and Los Locos (The madmen) that will maintain the adrenaline rushing at its best and make this experience the highlight of any adventurer’s vacation.
But beyond the fantastic river rapids, the river is surrounded by some of the most diverse forests in Central America.
You may get glimpses of groups of monkeys, howlers and capuchins, sloths, iguanas, basilisks, and several sorts of aquatic birds.
Halfway into the tour, you will stop to enjoy delicious fresh fruits cut right there by the river guides as well as to stretch your legs and rest a bit before going for the second part of your trip.
In the second part of the tour, you will have more time to relax and even swim at some of the tranquil ponds formed where the river gets wider.
You will leave the river on the Sibaja Family farm, where you will have a shower and change clothes.
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
