The Natural History tour of the Arenal Hanging Bridges takes place in a private reserve with 240 hectares (600 acres) of impressive tropical forests, and a great diversity of flora and fauna.
The trail is 3.1 kilometers (1.9 miles) long, with nine fixed bridges and six suspension bridges, and is designed with an inclination grade of over 7 degrees to make it suitable for everyone.

The Natural History of the Arenal Hanging Bridges will begin at the entrance of the Mistico Arenal about 17 kilometers from La Fortuna. You will meet your naturalist guide and start walking slowly through the park.
The path is completely paved, and, in the beginning, you will cross small fixed bridges while your guide gives you an introduction to the surrounding nature.
As the area guides know the park so well, they can take different trails so you can see more wildlife or some species that are known to be in a particular place. Naturalists in the area also have top-notch optical gear so you can see animals and birds up close.
The suspension bridges are strong and wide and, even if you are afraid of heights, you will feel safe at all times.
