The Selvatura Walkways will give you a total immersion in the rainforest experience. As you can see it from all possible levels, you may understand, if you are interested, how the whole system works from bottom to top.
But even if you are not interested in the natural history of tropical forests, the views are breathtaking, and you are in the best possible conditions for wildlife sightings.
The walkways are not only bridges but a set of paths that loop interconnecting. In total, this trails’ network encompass 2.05 miles (3.3 Km).
Eight separate bridges have lengths that vary from 164 feet to 550 feet (50 to 170m) long and heights of 40 to 200 feet (12 to 60m.) high. Every bridge is 1.5m wide and has a capacity for 60 people.
The sides of the bridges are enclosed with the rails up to chest height. These suspended bridges are built for the use and enjoyment of all ages as this is an experience especially fascinating for true nature lovers, photographers, and birdwatchers.
Guides are possible at set times for a price. If you like to have a naturalist guide to interpret the forest before your eyes, please advise at the time of the reservation.
The hanging bridges, of course, bounce a little, but in general, you will feel extremely safe at all times because of the high rails and the sturdy structure.
The Walkways will essentially give you time in the spectacular Monteverde forests. Time to walk and appreciate the magnificence of the tropical rainforests, take pictures, enjoy birdwatching or simply breath in the surrounding beauty and the open skies above the treetops.
The pathway is in excellent condition, and as Selvatura is located as close to the Santa Helena Reserve, the possibilities of wildlife sightings are quite high.
You may see howler and white-faced capuchin monkeys, two-toed sloths, porcupines, coatimundis, and unusual birds like the Three Wattle Bellbird and the Resplendent Quetzal.
